What is LED Light Therapy?
LED (light-emitting diode) is a collagen stimulating treatment that uses different colored wavelengths that penetrate the skin to promote healing and deliver product deeper for better efficacy. These lights are absorbed by the cells chromophores (the atom responsible for color compound). As we age or our body is trying to heal, we produce less and less of this cellular energy. Each color treatment is focused on a different area of concern and is a great add-on to most any skin care service because it does not heat up the skin and there is no risk of burns or thermal damage.
The many Benefits include:
How long will it take?
Each treatment takes between 10 and 20 minutes, depending on concern.
How is this treatment performed?
A handheld LED device with a ultrasonic attachment is used with specific massaging techniques that deliver benefits without any discomfort while you relax.
How long before I can go out into the sun?
You can go in the sun immediately after a treatment. Your service will end with an SPF 30, but it is beneficial to continue to use an SPF for 72 hours. The use of tanning bed is not recommended
Is there any downtime?
LED is a non-invasive, non-inflammatory treatment that requires no special post-treatment procedures, so there is no downtime needed.
What is skin type best benefited?
All skin can benefit from this including: Aging, Acneic, Rosacea, Sun Damaged, Dry etc…
Does it work?
Most clients see a difference in their skin after one treatment. However, receiving a series of treatments is a better way to achieve your long-term skin care goals and results. Ask your esthetician which is better for you.
Professional vs store
As with many products replicated to consumers, LED is best used by a professional. Store bought machines have a smaller head with weaker diodes which makes treatment time longer and a longer wait time for results.
*Results may vary and can not be used with some topical medications such as Accutane and certain retinol.
