Keeping A Healthy Diet & Lifestyle During Cold Season

In our last Bella Wellness Tip, we introduced you to the benefits of the amazing benefits of Dandelion. Its daily use can support live and kidney function and help to support the immune system.

There are other ways to support your body and overall wellness as the cold and flu months creep closer, as well as throughout the year!

Keeping A Healthy Diet & Lifestyle During Cold Season

Some simple dietary and lifestyle changes can make a big difference for both adults and little ones alike! Here are some of our favorite Bella Wellness Tips to keep you thriving:

Get Plenty of Rest

To stay healthy, it’s important that you make sure you allow your body plenty of rest time. We recommend being in bed by 10 pm, which should give you plenty of energy to be up by 6 am. For your little ones, we recommend putting them down for sleep at around 8 pm.

Eliminate Stimulants

Caffeine drinks like coffee and soda and sugary foods and drinks alike wear out the body’s ability to fight off diseases by over-taxing the adrenals and liver. Try to limit your intake of these stimulants.

Eat Rich Seasonal Veggies

We all know how important it is to eat our vegetables, but you can do one better by eating veggies that are in season. In season produce has a higher nutrition value because due to the fact that it is eaten during harvest season. Food that is stored for longer loses its nutritional value over time.

Avoid Processed Carbs and Foods

Due to the fact that refined carbs and foods go through extensive processing, they are stripped of their nutritional values and add little if any benefit to a healthy diet.

Eat Organic and Grass-fed Meats and Poultry in Moderation

When you eat non-organic meats, you take a risk by eating meat that has been treated with hormones, preservatives, and other additives that are horrible for our health and well being.

Lower or Eliminate Alcohol Intake

Limiting alcohol consumption can improve sleep, decrease the risk of health problems like liver disease, cancer, and heart problems, and it can even help you to step up your weight loss.

Take a Cold Shower

As unpleasant as it sounds, this is one of the best ways to increase the body’s circulation. If you can’t manage to keep the water cold for the entire shower, using cold water for the last 5 minutes of your shower will help too.

Incorporating these tips into your daily rhythm of life can help you in so many ways including better health, a clearer mind, and a happier outlook to live the Bella Life!
